Group D Outing... Genting Highlands

Here we are, Genting...

Well... I could hardly remember anything about Genting... The last time I went was more than 10 years ago... To me, it was theme park for kids and casino for adults...

I have finally made my way to Genting Highlands, not for casino, but for building relationship with my colleagues.

23 of us went to Genting Highlands today. It took us around 2 hours to get to the peak. The journey was smooth (Praise God for protection).

We started with outdoor theme park, with around half of us went on for the swing. The weather was very misty, and lots of the machines were not in operation. After a few group photo shoots, two of my colleagues and I decided to go ahead to be the "EY Astronauts". We went for the space shot. The rests went on for Fairy Wheels, G0-Cart, Dinosaur Park, Roller Coaster (indoor, due to the weather), etc.

At around 1pm, we went to Resort Cafe for our buffet lunch. We enjoyed the lunch, and used the opportunity to get to know each others better.

We had our team-building activity in the afternoon. It was a bowling tournament. We were in 5 small groups competing with one another. It was a good game, and the best thing was everyone was a winner...

We finally left Genting Highlands at 7pm. And when we reached KL, it was already 8.15pm. Everyone went back to rest and prepare to go back to work.

Photos can be viewed at my online photo album.

The confirmation at work...

Wow... it has been 3 months since I started my new job... what I can describe today is God is good!

I can still remember when I got the offer, I prayed for God's favour in this new company and the new job. My bosses are fantastic, indeed, I am one of the "new people" to learn a lot of new things, of course, it came with a price of going back late...

However, the hardwork payoff when I start seeing that I can finish my assignments at a faster rate, and learn more...

This reminds me with the words from a visiting pastor to my church here a few months ago, "be faithful with what we do, and we can glorify Lord Jesus through this, and we will receive blessing of God."

For our God is faithful, and He can do exceedingly and abudantly more than what we ask for.

I want to stand for God in my job, I want to continue to be the light that shine for Jesus at my workplace, I want to make Jesus famous at my workplace.

Jesus, the glorious God!

Seeking and Waiting... Waiting and Seeking

Wow! I have been constantly reminded by people to update my blog... Thanks God for all these brothers and sisters... Alright then, I finally have a chance to update my blog now...

I have been back for more than a month now... and for the last couple of weeks, I have been travelling between Kuala Lumpur, Machap and Johor Bahru...

I have been reading the Old testament about Isrealite preparing to cross over the river of Jordan. They had waited for 40 years before they could enter the promised land. This lets me ponder what they did during the 40 years time. Did they only ate the manna and not satisfied, and kept on blaming God for bringing them out of Egypt?

The past one month to me was like Isrealite. I prayed to God in a night and said, "Lord Jesus, let Your will be done on the earth, let Your plan for me be my plan, let Your dream be my dream." For I have been waiting for a job, a job that God has provided. I want a success that is from God, a success that brings glory to our King Jesus!

I received a call yesterday from an accountacy firm yesterday. They offered me with a job, although paid is not very high, I like the environment as I know I can learn a lot of things. I agreed to take on the position immediately, but started to worry about earthly things...

This morning God spoke to me through Joshua 1:9 [Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courages. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go]. That's right, God is with me wherever I go!

I will update you with my new job (starts on 26th March). Yes, it's a very short time, but God's timing is perfect, and He is a God of provision! Halleluiah...

I know that God has provided me with this job and He will go with me! What I want to say now is Thank you, Jesus! I praise you, Lord!

On the way to Singapore / Malaysia

I just finished my first leg of flight (ie. from Manchester to Doha)... For the last 6.5 hours, I was watching movies (Shark Tale and The Queen) and caught a bit of sleep.

Praise God that the flight was quite comfortable, and the service was quite good as well. I reached Doha International Airport around 30 minutes ago. Nothing much here (very small duty free area), but get a free dinner voucher for this evening and free internet connection too (that's why I am updating my blog now), thank God for His provisions...

I still have around 3.5 hours before boarding, I will go to get some dinner soon, and do a bit of reading....

Just a note for people who are travelling with Qatar Airways in the future, please do not be surprised that you need to go through security check area even for transfer (it is just a bit weird)

OK, I need to go now, I will update you when I reach Malaysia.

God bless.

What a family...

It's already 4.5 years since I first came to Manchester...

God has been gracious to me here... Today marked my last day in this year to celebrate with my family (King's Church) here...

Looking back, I can see the hand of God never left me on my own. The best people I have ever met and will remain in my memory for the rest of the time is the friendship I have built here over the years, and of course they are my family here in Manchester...

I was prayed for by the church in the second meeting this morning. The powerful word of God came to me...

I believe that I am sent by the church here back to Malaysia, to accomplish the plan that God has for me. God brought me here 4.5 years ago to be equipped by His church here, and calls me back to Malaysia now to serve Him and make His name famous...

For whatever I do, I want to do it for His glory, no matter it is an easy or hard time. For we serve a faithful God, a God who is faithful in everything we do, a God who is the source of all things... and He is my source of strength at all times...

To me, the time ahead is a new season. It is a season of harvest, and with the time I sowed here, I am going to the harvest field to reap, and sowing new seeds ahead...

A surprise party was organised by my cell group with the rest of the church this afternoon in the building. I had a fantastic time and managed to catch up with a fair amount of people. I owe a big "thank you" for people who have been planning and organising this afternoon, and brothers and sisters who prepared food...

At last, I just want to thank God for how He has used me over the years; and many thanks to these people:
Keri, the apostle to the church, for releasing the resources that I need to do His work;
Richard & Judith, Gavin & Rachel, Dave & Philipa, Ezekiel & Mahongo and Andrew & Heather, the elders and wives of the church, for your encouraging and looking after me;
Ian, Sarah (& Mark), Nathan & Laura, the deacons of the church, for showing me the way that how you serve the church and led me in serving with you;
Daniel & Rachel, my great cell leaders, for taking care of me and being there for me at all times;
Lina, my lovely girlfriend, for supporting me, loving me and being with me all the time;
and many others (although your names are not mentioned, you play a crucial part of my time here).

My prayer is that the river of God will continue to flow within this church, and flowing out from me as I continue to serve Him in the time ahead...

For I am going from here to the nation, and with His presence, I will go in peace and make His name famous! I will keep you up-to-date from this site... and may God use my family in Manchester powerfully for the time ahead...

New Year Eve 2006

Due to my visa restriction, I needed to fly out from Manchester today. And today marked the first day of my Europe backpacking trip...

It was a very long journey (yes, it took me more than an hour to check-in) from Manchester to Bordeaux (southern France). When I reached there eventually, I was informed that the hotel I booked was closed.

God is good! I managed to check myself into a 2 star hotel that was not far from the one I booked... and the owner was able to speak English... That was really a great blessing...

I spent the rest of the day in exploring the town, and reserved a bed in a night train from Toulouse to Nice on the night of 3rd of January...

I thank God for the ticketing machine that I could check for train information in English... When I stepped to the counter to reserve for a bed in the night train, I discovered that the staff can hardly speak any English. I finally managed to book my ticket through various communication method...

I praise God for the way He creates us. Although not everyone speak the same language, we can still communicate through sign language...

Rather than joining other people in counting down, I rested in my room and recovered from the sleepy I got from not sleeping the night before... with counting down for New Year 2007 in front of a television set...
